For ages and ages, I had been wanting to try out a foundation stick. I've seen loads of high-end brands like Make Up Forever and Anastasia Beverley Hills that do great ones, but I didn't want to splash the cash on a product that I wasn't 100% sure I would get along with (broke a** b**** over here).

I have forever used a liquid foundation but it isn't always the most convenient when you give yourself half an hour in the morning to look semi-ok before leaving for work and I also hate that post-foundation-orange-mark-on-your-hand that it leaves when again, I leave myself half an hour to rush out the door.

So, I found myself pondering on Instagram and forever seeing adverts for the new L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Stick so I got a couple of different shades, including one of the highlighter sticks and thought I'd give it a whirl.

Above are the shades that I purchased, Sand, Ivory and Gold is Cold (highlight shade). I got 2 different base shades so that I can use one for when I am tanned and one for when I am pale. The packaging is really nice, they aren't too big but they also have a good amount of product and you don't need to pack on the layers for an even coverage.

I would say that the coverage is fairly medium but it is definitely buildable because it doesn't feel too heavy or 'cakey'. They also have a lovely, dewy finish to them. They don't set matte unless you use a separate finishing powder which is nice because, the days of a completely matte and lifeless looking foundation are (thankfully) over.

The only 2 negative points for me would be that they aren't as long lasting as they say they are. When I wear the colour Sand over a fake tan, I love my complexion and I feel like the coverage is slightly better and it wears longer. However, when I wear the Ivory shade with no tan, it doesn't seem to last as long and I feel like I'm having to top up on concealer and powder.

The only other negative is that the highlight wasn't as easy to work with. The colour is lovely and if this was a powder formula, it would be a thumbs up from me. However, it was a risk going for a cream formula highlight anyway, because I've never got on with them that well, but, this product in particular doesn't seem to blend as well as the foundation shades and takes a lot of work and going over. When I have tried this out, I've found myself reaching for multiple beauty blenders and brushes to work with the product and often reach for a powder highlight to layer with to give a more glowy finish.

Overall, if you are looking to try a new formula of foundation that is affordable, convenient, and has a lovely dewy finish, I would definitely recommend the L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Stick.

From top to bottom; Gold is Cold, Ivory and Sand.
